BE A PART OF THE MOVEMENT TO HELP FOSTER YOUTH REACH THEIR POTENTIAL

ABOUT THE EVENT

The Hack Foster Care Summit brings together technology companies, government agencies, non-profits, and foster youth advocates to focus on three goals in support of foster youth. Foster youth are an untapped source of talent for the technology economy, yet too many of them never realize their potential because the system is failing them.

COLLEGE AND CAREER PREP

Prepare youth for college and career. Only half graduate high school and only 3% earn a bachelor’s degree.

REFORM

TECHNOLOGY

A lack of coordination among platforms makes it difficult to securely capture, manage and share information, slows the processes and increases errors

ACCESS TO TECHNOLOGY

Too many foster youth don’t have a computer or access to the Internet.

OUR

MISSION

The mission of Hack Foster Care is to use technology to improve the lives of foster youth and families in the child welfare system. We bring together tech leaders, child welfare agencies, foster youth and families to develop solutions that make a meaningful difference.
